Yesterday was the first day of the Midyear Transfer signing period for college football. The Toledo Rockets signed a couple of new recruits and have a few more that are coming in and enrolling at Toledo in January. The Toledo Rockets received a major boost to their 2010 recruiting class today when three star cornerback Taikwon Paige signed a National Letter of Intent during the Midyear Transfer Signing Period. Paige, who originally signed with Auburn last year, will start classes at Toledo in January.   Full Story

Ohio State's recruiting class hadn't grown for a while, but Verlon Reed rectified that Wednesday with a commitment to the Buckeyes. The Columbus Marion-Franklin athlete becomes the No. 15 member of the class.   Full Story

It's been a rough couple of months for Gerard Atkins after signing with South Florida in the 2009 recruiting class. Things did not work out for Atkins at USF, but he had several options to choose from heading into January. He recently made the decision to become a Toledo Rocket.   Full Story

Cleveland St. Ignatius linebacker Jake Ryan had a big year in 2009, earning Ohio Division I First Team linebacker by the Associated Press. He helped lead St. Ignatius to the Regional Semi-Finals and an 11-1 record, but now Ryan is focused on his future, and has narrowed his list to four schools. Massillon [Ohio] junior wide receiver Devin Smith picked up his first scholarship offer Monday, when Toledo notified Tiger head coach Jason Hall of their interest in this budding star. Robert Boswell is a 5-9 and 175 pound athlete with excellent speed. The Orange Park, FL native helped lead Fleming Island to a 10-3 record this year, scoring 16 total touchdowns and racking up 964 yards rushing and 447 yards receiving. On the recruiting front, Boswell has already scheduled one official visit.   Full Story

Monday may have seemed like any ordinary day, but when it was all said and done, it turned out to be a very special day for the Toledo Rockets coaching staff. Two major commitments gave verbal commitments to UT Head Coach Tim Beckman. First was running back David Fluellen, and then was Junior College wide receiver Quintin Robinson.   Full Story
