Here's a little known fact about Barry Church. I was the first person to interview him as a Toledo Rocket. It was August, 2006. Church was a true freshman at Toledo. Coaches were raving about him in practices, and he was listed #1 at strong safety on the depth chart. So I decided to get an interview with him to see what the buzz was about.   Full Story

It's not every day that you find a receiver like Stephen Williams. Very tall at 6-5, but also very fast as his 4.41 forty yard dash shows. But then to have a kid that can run his route and make big catch after big catch with those same stats? That's even more of a rarity. The Toledo Rockets got a crucial win last Saturday night when they defeated the Northern Illinois Huskies 20-19 at the Glass Bowl. Toledo improved to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the MAC with the victory. As of Saturday, the Temple University Owls (4-2, 3-0) have just won four games in a row, something that the Owls haven’t accomplished in two dozen years. They are currently sitting atop the MAC East tied for first place with Ohio University. Temple is making first appearance at the Glass Bowl since becoming a MAC member.    Full Story

About 10:30 on October 10th, Barry Church stood shell-shocked and embarrassed in front of a quiet room of reporters to answer their muted questions about what had just happened to the Toledo Rockets. Church offered no excuses and vowed that Rocket fans would never see that again this year. That kind of determination helped Toledo beat NIU 20-19 Saturday night.   Full Story

Toledo senior safety Barry Church came up huge in Toledo's 20-19 victory over Northern Illinois Saturday night. A blocked field goal attempt with just 37 seconds left in the game allowed the Rockets to hang on for victory, and his performance did not go unnoticed.   Full Story

Coming off a 41-31 victory at FIU last weekend, the Rockets have won of the best scoring offenses in the country as they look to stop a three game skid against the Ball State Cardinals.
