Moore, Herbert Sign with NFL Teams

Two former Rocket football players have signed free agent contracts with NFL teams, just hours after the 2009 NFL draft. Former wide receiver Nick Moore has signed with the Minnesota Vikings, while former free safety/defensive back Tyrrell Herbert has signed with the Buffalo Bills.
Two former Rocket football players have signed free agent contracts with NFL teams, just hours after the 2009 NFL draft.
Former wide receiver Nick Moore signed with the Minnesota Vikings. Moore led the Rockets with 78 receptions in 2008. He finished fourth on Toledo's all-time receiving list with 182 catches in his career. Nick broke a school record and Michigan Stadium record with 20 receptions in Toledo's 13-10 win over the Michigan Wolverines last season.
Former free safety/defensive back Tyrrell Herbert signed with the Buffalo Bills. After missing most of the 2007 season with an injury, Tyrrell bounced back in 2008 with 79 total tackles, good enough for 3rd on the team. He also had 5.5 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 1 sack, and 4 interceptions. The biggest interception of the season was a 100 yard interception return for a touchdown in Toledo's 13-10 win over Michigan.
For his career, Tyrrell recorded 254 total tackles, 9 forced fumbles, and 8 interceptions.
In other Rocket football news, with spring practices over the coaching staff is now turning their attention to recruiting. For the next month the assistant coaches will be hitting the road and visiting as many high schools as possible, before they let out for the summer.
