Tucker Talks Official Visit

Local QB EJ Tucker committed to Toledo back in November, but did not take his official visit to UT until this weekend. Rocket Digest caught up with Tucker this afternoon to see how his visit went and to get an update on things. Read on for more.

EJ Tucker committed to Toledo back in November and had been to Toledo many times to watch the Rockets play, but he did not take his official visit to Toledo until this weekend. Rocket Digest caught up with the 6-3, 207 pound quarterback from locally in Toledo earlier this afternoon.

Tucker is one of six prospects that were on Toledo's campus this weekend for official visits. One of the other prosects in was RB commit David Fluellen, while the other four were uncommitted prospects.

"I just got back from Coach Beckman's house," Tucker said. He added, "I had a wonderful time. We took a tour around the campus. We visited the dorms and we got to see what the indoor facility is going to look like."

A familiar face was Tucker's player host over the weekend in Isaiah Ballard, a former Rogers High School star himself. Another Rogers product will be joining them at Toledo. Linebacker James Gordon committed to Toledo in September. He took his official visit on December 11th.

Tucker is very excited about the future of Rocket Football. "I really like what UT is doing, and I'm looking forward to bringing Toledo back to Detroit (MAC Championship Game)."

Even though his career at Rogers is over, Tucker has one more game to play before he gets to Toledo this summer. He's been invited to participate in the North/South All-Star Game, an all-star game pitting stars from Northern Ohio against stars from Southern Ohio. That game will be on April 23rd. Then Tucker will prepare for Toledo this summer.
