Jake Ryan is getting closer to deciding where his future belongs. Last week we reported that Ryan was down to four schools. After visiting Ball State and Toledo the last two weeks, is he any closer?

"After visiting (UT this weekend), Ball State and Toledo are both at the top of my list, tied for first," Jake Ryan told Rocket Digest last night. The 6-3, 220 pound linebacker still has one more official visit to Ohio University the first week of January, but right now it would be hard to top Ball State or Toledo on his list.

"It was a great visit," Ryan said of his visit to Toledo over the weekend. "I learned so much stuff that I never thought Toledo offered, such as the campus. Everyone thinks it's run down, but the buildings and the campus are amazing."

Jake has been a priority target by the Rocket coaching staff since this summer when he received an offer from UT assistant coach Mike Ward. He has great speed for a linebacker (4.57 forty yard dash) and good strength (300 pound bench press).

Along with Toledo, Ball State, and Ohio University, last week Jake listed Central Michigan as one of the four schools he was still considering. After the last two visits, it's going to be tough for CMU or Ohio to beat out his top two.

Jake spoke more about his visit to Toledo. "My host on the visit was Danny Molls. We got a tour of the campus, a great lok at the academics, and also the new indoor facilities."

Stay tuned to Rocket Digest over the next couple of days, as recruiting heats up with the Midyear Transfer signing period beginning in just two days, December 16th. This early period runs through January 15th, however next semester classes start at Toledo on January 11th and in most cases, midyear transfers will sign on the first day of the period, which is Wednesday.
