It didn't take long after Zac Rosenbauer received an offer from the Toledo Rockets before he made a verbal commitment. Zac came to Toledo's game against Western Michigan on October 10th, and then received an offer from Toledo about a week later. Then last Friday he gave his commitment to head coach Tim Beckman and the Rocket coaching staff.

Rosenbauer is a 6-2, 245 pound linebacker at Lima Shawnee High School in Ohio. The three star prospect is rated the #36 linebacker prospect in the nation by Scout.com. He chose Toledo over offers from Akron and Bowling Green.

Zac was recruited to Toledo by co-defensive coordinator Mike Ward, and despite being a linebacker in high school, he is being recruited by the Rockets to play defensive end. Rosenbauer is 245 pounds right now, and he hopes to get up to 270 pounds by next fall.

Rocket Digest recently caught up with Rosenbauer to talk about his commitment to Toledo. "I really liked the staff, they seem to have the program heading in the right direction," said Rosenbauer.

Another factor in Zac's commitment to Toledo was another player that committed to Toledo in September. "I know Derek Roback pretty well, and overall it wa the correct decision right now."

Rosenbauer could make an immediate impact at Toledo. The defensive line in thin at Toledo, particularly the defensive ends. The Rockets have failed to consistently get pressure on opposing quarterbacks this season. Zac's size and speed make him a natural outside pass rusher.

Rosenbaure joins offensive lineman Taylor Miller as three star prospects that have committed to Toledo in the 2010 recruiting class. Several others are ranked nationally in their position as well.

With Zac Rosenbauer and defensive lineman Keenen Gibbs (Cincinnati LaSalle) both committing to Toledo on Friday, the Rockets are now up to 10 commitments in the 2010 recruiting class. Toledo will likely sign 22 or 23 prospects in the 2010 class, so they are close to the halfway point in the class.
