Rosenbauer Names Leader

Zac Rosenbauer (6-2, 245) is a three star prospect that can play linebacker or defensive end. He recently added an offer from Toledo, to go along with offers from Akron and Bowling Green. With three offers now in hand, Zac has developed a clear favorite in the recruiting process. Read on for more information.

Zac Rosenbauer (6-2, 245) has been on the Rocket recruiting radar for some time, but did not hold an offer from Toledo. However, that recently changed.

"A week or two ago," Rosenbauer responded when asked by Rocket Digest when he picked up the offer from Toledo. The Rockets have joined Akron and Bowling Green in offering the three star defensive prospect. He is also hearing from schools such as West Virginia, Harvard, Brown, Cornell, Michigan State, Boston College, Central Michigan, and Western Michigan.

In high school Zac plays linebacker for Lima Shawnee High School. Shawnee is 6-3 on the season, but the most impressive stat is that they have five shutouts on the season.

Toledo co-defensive coordinator Mike Ward is recruiting Rosenbauer for the Rockets, and like Akron and Bowling Green, Toledo wants him to play defensive end.

The defensive line has been an area of concern at Toledo for at least a few years now. With the additions in last year's class and a couple more defensive lineman in this year's class, that concern could start to ease. Rosenbauer would definitely be a solid addition, but what does he think about Toledo?

"As far as the teams that have offered, Toledo is (the) definite leader," Rosenbauer told Rocket Digest. "(I) really like the Toledo coaching staff and I believe they will have the program at the top of the MAC in no time."

Zac said that he made an unofficial visit to watch Toledo play Western Michigan on October 17th. He also said that he will likely take an official visit to Toledo in December.

With Toledo as a clear favorite, Zac might not wait until his official visit in regards to making a commitment. When asked about a timeframe for making a decision, Zac replied, "either in the next two to three weeks, or after all the officials."

On top of being a very good player on the field, Zac has done very well on the academic side as evident from the interest coming from Harvard, Brown, and Cornell. He scored a 29 on his ACT, and he currently holds a 3.7 GPA.

Stay tuned to Rocket Digest over the next couple of weeks to see if any new developments arise in Zac Rosenbauer's recruitment.
