Miami, FL -- The Rocket offense took flight in Miami, FL last night as Toledo (2-2) cruised to a 41-31 victory over FIU (0-3). Toledo took a 38-17 lead with 8:50 left in the 4th quarter and then played prevent on defense and worked to run out the clock on offense.

Senior running back DaJuane Collins rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns, including a career long 72 yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Senior quarterback Aaron Opelt had a solid game with 343 yards passing and two touchdowns through the air while also scoring a touchdown on the ground. True freshman slot receiver Eric Page had 5 receptions for 113 yards and two touchdowns, while senior wide receiver Stephen Williams had 6 receptions for 116 yards.

Altogether the Rockets amassed 566 yards of total offense, with 343 passing and 223 rushing. The Rocket defense showed improvement, despite giving up 31 points. FIU ended up with 372 yards of total offense, with much of it in the 2nd half. FIU passed for 224 yards and rushed for 148 yards.

The 41 points scored by Toledo was the most given up by FIU this season, who came into the game 0-2 after losing at Alabama and then at Rutgers.

FIU receiver T.Y. Hilton lived up to the hype with 9 receptions for 126 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 24 yards on three carries. A Freshman All-American last season for FIU, Hilton was kept in check for most of the game until the outcome had already been decided.

Junior college transfer Ryan Casano saw his first action of the season for Toledo after missing the first three games with an injury. Casano kicked off five times in the game, and also booted a 47 yard punt. Senior kicker Alex Steigerwald was 2 for 2 on field goal tries, making them from 36 and 24 yards out.

Next up for the 2-2 Rockets is the start of MAC play with a game at Ball State next Saturday. The game is slated for a Noon kickoff and will air on ESPN Gameplan and on the web at ESPN360.com.
