The Toledo Rockets (1-2) look to get back on the winning track with one final home game against the FIU Golden Panthers (0-2) at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday night. Will the Rockets pick up their second win of the season? Will the Toledo Rockets offense come back to life after being shutout by the Buckeyes?
When the Rockets get back on the field tomorrow night in Miami, Fla., against FIU, the Midnight Blue & Gold will have to be better on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball to get back to .500. Will they get it done?
One Bold Prediction
After Saturday night the Rockets will be 2-2.
Yes, it's obvious that the
Toledo
defense has struggled to stop the run. Both OSU and
Purdue
went well over the 200 yard mark on the ground against the Rockets. Getting a shot against FIU's ground attack, though, will be just what the doctor ordered. FIU has been downright bad running the ball through two games. The Golden Panthers have netted less then 100 yards on the ground.
With a struggling Golden Panthers running game, the Toledo Rockets will jump out on top of FIU in the early goings for the second year in a row. Unlike last year, though, the lead will hold. Toledo's running game will be too much for FIU to overcome.
DaJuane Collins will play like a senior and help keep the defense on the sidelines.
Eric Page
will be held from scoring on the big play, but a lot of short underneath routes will help Toledo sustain drives. Page will be a big part of it.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Rockets will force the Golden Panthers into a one dimensional offense. With Toledo building an early lead offensively, watch for FIU to abandon the run and try testing the Rockets secondary. As good as T.Y. Hilton is though, the Rockets will be able to slow the FIU offense to hold on the win.
As the game progresses and the Golden Panthers are forced into taking more chances, watch for the Rockets to pull away late.
