More Honors for Opelt

Last week senior QB Aaron Opelt was named MAC West Division Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts at Purdue. After another solid game Friday night against Colorado, Opelt earned more honors from the MAC and another source. Read on for more information.

Toledo senior QB Aaron Opelt has been named MAC West Division Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Friday night Opelt lit up the Colorado Buffaloes in a 54-38 Rockets victory.

Opelt threw for 319 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 109 yards and two more touchdowns against Colorado. He completed 15 of 23 passes (65%) without throwing an interception.

However, that was not the only award that Aaron received this week. He was also named the National Player of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards website.

Aaron Opelt and the Rocket offense now prepare for their toughest test of the season Saturday afternoon when the host the Ohio State Buckeyes at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, OH. The game is scheduled for a Noon kickoff, and to air on ESPN Plus.
