The 6-4, 265 pound offensive lineman from Newark Catholic High School in Ohio chose the Rockets over offers from Indiana, Air Force, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, and Kent State. Josh Hendershot became the first commitment in the 2010 football recruiting class when he committed to Toledo head coach Tim Beckman on June 14th. The 6-4, 265 pound offensive lineman from Newark Catholic High School in Ohio chose Toledo over offers from Indiana, Air Force, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, and Kent State.

How old were you when you started playing football?

"I was around five. That is when my dad first introduced it to me and I've loved playing it ever since."


What were the main factors in deciding to commit to Toledo?

"The coaches, school, location, and just the entire atmosphere in Toledo."


What coach at Toledo is your recruiting coach?

"Coach Golesh and Coach Campbell both helped to recruit me."


What position has Toledo recruited you for?

"I'm most likely going to play guard or center, but there is a possibility that I could play tackle. They're going to move me around and see where I would best fit when I get up there."


Do you play any other sports at your high school?

"I am a shot and discus thrower for the track team."


What do you like to do in your free time?

"I just like to hang out with my friends or catch a good movie."


What is your favorite food?

"Pizza. Nothing will ever beat that."


What is your favorite movie?

"The Hangover. It's probably the funniest movie I've ever seen."


What songs are you listening to these days?

"Lately I've been listening to a lot of songs by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Offspring, and Disturbed."


Who is your favorite NFL player?

"James Harrison of the Steelers. I was fortunate to meet him in person three years ago and he's a nice guy and a great football player."
