Darien Bryant is a 6-4, 200 pound tight end prospect in the class of 2011. The Reynoldsburg, OH native will just be entering his junior year of high school this fall, but he is already on Toledo's recruiting radar, and even received a verbal offer from the Rockets. Read on for more on Darien Bryant and his recruitment with Toledo.
Darien Bryant
(Reynoldsburg, OH) is a 6-4, 200 pound tight end prospect in the class of 2011. He will just be entering his junior year of high school this fall, but he is already on
Toledo
's recruiting radar. "Toledo is the only school I have an offer from at the moment, but there are other schools that are interested, but would like more film," Bryant recently told Rocket Digest. Since he has not entered his junior year of school yet, his offer from Toledo is just a verbal offer. They cannot send the official paperwork until he starts classes in the fall.
Bryant told Rocket Digest that Toledo assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Alex Golesh is recruiting him to Toledo. "I haven't really got a chance to meet all the coaches yet, but Coach Golesh seems like a good guy," Bryant said.
Darien received his offer from Toledo when the coaching staff saw him at a one day camp at Ohio State. And though he has not been to Toledo yet, Bryant informed Rocket Digest that he was taking an unofficial visit to Toledo today.
Last season Bryant had 5 catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns. He runs a 4.53 forty yard dash, making him a threat on every passing play. Entering his junior year this fall, expect Darien to put up big numbers.
To prepare for his junior season, Bryant has been working to put on weight. He also says that he needs to step up and be a leader on his team.
As far as recruiting goes, Bryant has a lot of time to make a decision. "I want to keep an open mind and visit to see where I feel comfortable," Bryant said. He continued, "good academics and somewhere football is a large part of the community."
Along with Bryant, Toledo has given verbal offers to a couple more 2011 football prospects. They are QB
Patrick Coyne
of Badin High School in Hamilton, OH and LB
Jabari Hunt-Days
of Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs, GA. Jabari is the brother of 2010 three star QB prospect
Synjyn Days
, who also has an offer from Toledo.
Rocket Digest will keep you updated on Darien's status as a 2011 Toledo Rocket prospect over the next several months.
