The University of Toledo picked up another commitment on Monday when Mentor, Ohio defensive end Ben Pike gave his pledge to Rocket head coach Tim Beckman. Pike is the 8th commitment to the University of Toledo's 2009 recruiting class.

Defensive end Ben Pike, 6-3 and 230 pounds, switched his commitment from Eastern Michigan to Toledo when he called Rocket head coach Tim Beckman Monday to give him the news.

Pike also played tight end at Mentor High School, but has been recruited to Toledo as a defensive end. He originally committed to Eastern Michigan back in early November. However, with the coaching change at EMU, Pike decided to explore other options.

Ben is rated two stars by scout.com and he is the 8th commitment to the University of Toledo's 2009 football recruiting class.
