RocketBlog: Tuesday Practice
By

Rocket Digest's Karl Rofkar was at practice yesterday morning to keep up with the latest happenings on the Toledo Rockets football team. Find out what the Rockets were working on and who looked good as the Midnight Blue and Gold prepare for the season-opener against the Arizona Wildcats in just a few short weeks.
A few quick hitters from practice yesterday morning...
-
Robin Bailey
definitely looked like he plans to be in the mix. He made some great catches and looked sharp.
-
Tim Cortazzo
stood out at WR as well.
-
Kenny Stafford
did a nice job of catching a few balls in traffic. The WR position is looking very good for the coming season.
- Saw the defensive line punk the offensive line a few times today. There were a few sacks from multiple members of the DL, and DaJuane Collins and
Morgan Williams
both got stuffed for losses at least once. Is the DL improved?
- In addition to a sack, Hank Keighly also broke though the line to stuff Morgan Williams for a loss on one play.
- Speaking of Cortazzo,
Tyrrell Herbert
put a heck of a lick on him that had the defense, both on the fields and on the sidelines, whoopin' it up.
- The offense had the pleasure of a few sets of up-downs again today for jumping offsides, but they were mostly very disciplined.
-
Aaron Opelt
exhibited some real leadership that got everyone's attention. Not pleased with the way the offense was going for a bit, he voiced his displeasure. And what do you know... they got it right the very next time. Good sign.
- I didn't feel either Opelt or Lenehan threw the ball particularly well today in the 11-on-11 drills, but it's early.
- It was good to see the Rockets working on the deep ball a little bit today.
