Zac Rosenbauer is a 2010 football prospect from Lima Shawnee High School in the state of Ohio. Rocket Digest recently caught up with the 6-2 and 235 pound linebacker to talk about things, including the early recruiting interest he is garnering.

Even though Rosenbauer cannot receive an official scholarship offer until he starts his junior academic school year, he has already received a verbal offer from the Akron Zips and is receiving a lot of interest from other schools.

Zac told Rocket Digest that he is hearing from "Northwestern, Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Iowa, Cincinnati, Colorado, Wyoming, CMU, WMU, EMU, Toledo, BG, Ohio, and Miami of Ohio."

UT recruiting coordinator Doug Downing has been recruiting Zac for Toledo, though he has not spoke to him in the offseason. He did however visit Toledo's campus last season to watch UT's 52-28 victory over Eastern Michigan.

He did not get to do a full visit of the campus, but he noted that the facilities were very nice and that Toledo is traditionally one of the best MAC programs. He is hoping to visit Toledo's campus next summer, and possibly even for a game this fall.

This summer he attended camps at Eastern Michigan, Cincinnati, Ohio State, and Michigan State.

Despite just being a sophomore in 2007, Zac recorded 117 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and forced two fumbles. His team went 7-3 and just missed making the state playoffs by less than a tenth of a point.

For his junior season, Zac has been working to improve on last year's performance. "Change of direction and I've been trying to improve my technique," Zac told Rocket Digest about his summer preparations for the upcoming season.

There are three things that seem to set this young man apart; size, speed, and intelligence. At 6-2 and 235 pounds he has the size to play linebacker, defensive end, fullback, or even tight end in college, and he is being recruited for each of those positions from different schools.

He also has the speed to play those positions at the Division I FBS level with a recorded time of 4.6 in the forty yard dash. He's a great student too, currently holding a 3.8 GPA while already earning a 29 on his ACT.

At this time Zac has seven schools that he likes the best. "Northwestern, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Akron, Toledo, EMU, and BG," Rosenbauer told Rocket Digest.

Zac has a lot of time left to make a decision. With his junior season approaching, he should start to receive more offers and get the chance to shrink his list even more before making a decision. And when will that decision most likely come? "Sometime late next summer," said Zac.

Stay tuned to Rocket Digest as we keep you updated on Zac's junior season at Lima Shawnee and his recruitment and status as a Toledo football prospect.
