The University of Toledo
signed three players from Hamilton High School in the 2008 recruiting class and also got a pledge from another to come as a preferred walk-on.
The pipeline between Hamilton, OH and the University of Toledo could continue in the 2009 class as well. Hamilton has several players that should be getting Division I offers in the class.
is a 6-3 and 290 pound defensive lineman. "UT would be a great fit with all of our guys up there," Hamilton High School Coach Jim Place told Rocket Digest when commenting on Jarrett.
Jarrett is receiving interest from several Mid-American conference schools, including Toledo.
"Donovan had an outstanding junior season and has the potential to really explode his senior year," said Coach Place. "He has the size and quickness to be an outstanding college defensive lineman," he added.
Another Hamilton prospect that is on the Toledo radar is defensive back Rahkeem Caver
. The 5-10 and 175 pounder will be entering his 3rd season as a starter on the Hamilton Varsity team in 2008.
"He has great football instincts and plays all man cover," Coach Place told Rocket Digest. He added, "He is definitely a college DB."
Rahkeem is a good student with a 2.7 GPA. He should be getting offers from several Mid-American Conference schools.
Tight end Ryan Schmitz
is another Hamilton player that has the eyes of the Toledo coaches. At 6-4 and 215 pounds, Schmitz needs to add some weight and muscle to his frame, and he is already working on it. "He has quit basketball to concentrate on football and getting bigger," said Coach Place.
Coach Place says that Ryan is very athletic and has good hands. An athletic tight end with good hands would fit nicely in the Rocket spread offense.
is a 6-0 and 205 pound linebacker/safety that is getting the majority of the attention at Hamilton. He already has offers from Iowa
, and Northwestern
"Denicos is a great football player and is capable of playing at any school in the country," said Coach Place.
Denicos is also a wrestler and bench presses 350 pounds. He is a quality student with a 2.8 GPA.
Other Hamilton players that could make some noise as seniors in 2008 are DB Ricky Cardwell, OL Jeff Prather, OL Jarrod Morris, DE Edward Bryant, WR Andy Cain, OL Jimmy Durham, LB Shamir Maloney, and TE Travis Jeffries.
Three players from Hamilton High School signed with Toledo in the 2008 recruiting class, while another Hamilton product has pledged to come in as a preferred walk-on. Was it the start of a new pipeline between the high school in Hamilton, OH and the University of Toledo?
