New Albany standout Mike Marrow received an offer from Toledo when he was a sophomore. Preparing for spring and summer camps and his senior year of high school, Marrow has picked up some more offers and may be on the verge of receiving even more.
Linebacker
Mike Marrow
has already been receiving a lot of attention from college coaches. Last year he received an offer from
Toledo
, and he recently received offers from
Nebraska
and
Penn State
as well.
"Mike's been hearing from everyone; Big Ten,
Notre Dame
, ACC," said Mike's high school coach Mark Mueller.
Mueller is the head football coach at New Albany High School, where Mike Marrow is a star running back and linebacker.
Marrow rushed for over 800 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior in 2007. He also recorded 30 tackles as a part time player at linebacker.
Marrow stands 6-1 and weighs 235 pounds. He also runs a 4.85 in the forty yard dash.
Mike's father, Vince, played tight end for the Rockets before going to the Buffalo Bills in the 1992 NFL Draft. He also played in NFL Europe and the WWE's ill-fated XFL in 2000 before it folded. Vince is rumored to have been hired as the new Tight Ends coach at the University of Toledo, after spending time as a coach in NFL Europe.
With his father having played at Toledo, Mike has been a target of the Rockets coaching staff for a while and is primarily being recruited as a linebacker.
His 4.85 speed in the forty is not blazing fast, but his assets compliment that fact. "He's big, strong, and physical," said Coach Mueller. "Michael works hard on the field and in the classroom," he added.
Mike is planning on going to camps at
Ohio State
, Notre Dame, and Penn State for sure. With his father at UT now, he will likely camp there as well.
While Mike Marrow is receiving a lot of attention from college coaches, he is not the only New Albany prospect gaining the interest of college coaches. OL/DL Any Schubert is receiving interest from the Ivy League, MAC, and ACC. TE/DL Collin Show is receiving interest from MAC schools, as well as OL/DL John Rorlick. LB/RB John Korth is receiving interest from Conference USA schools, and WR/FS Alex Sycher is hearing from schools in the Big East.
Stay tuned to Rocket Digest over the coming months as we keep you updated with Mike Marrow's recruitment.
