The University of Toledo received another commitment to the 2008 football recruiting class Wednesday night when Delran, NJ defensive back Mark Singer gave the Rockets his commitment. Singer is a 6-0 and 190 pound defensive back that runs a 4.5 forty. He is expected to play safety at Toledo. He was named 2nd Team Defense All-South Jersey as a senior at Holy Cross High School in 2007. He was a four-year starter at Holy Cross. He recorded 77 tackles and forced four fumbles as a senior in 2007. He also had 18 career interceptions. Singer picked Toledo over an offer from Rhode Island. Penn State and Purdue both told Mark that they might offer him a scholarship if other players did not sign, but Mark told the Philadelphia Inquirer that he did not want to wait and committed to Toledo. Singer is a very good student and holds a 3.3 GPA. He plans on majoring in criminal justice at Toledo, and is expected to play free safety for the Rockets. Singer has an official visit to Toledo setup for this weekend. |
