Q&A with Rocket Recruit Dawan Nolton

With a defense that has struggled through much of the 2007 season, it's no question that Toledo would like to add depth to its defense in the class of 2008. Rocket Digest caught up with linebacker Dawan Nolton to see where the Rockets sit in his recruitment.

Dawan Nolton is a talent from a rich state of New Jersey. With the need to pull in linebackers in the class of 2008, Nolton receiving interest from the Toledo Rockets early in the process. Rocket Digest caught up with Nolton to feel out where he sits in the recruiting process.

RD: What is your current height, weight and 40 time right now?
Dawan Nolton: I am at 6-foot, 195-pounds and run 4.49 (self-reported).

RD: How did your team do this year? How about yourself? What were your stats?
Dawan Nolton: We were doing really good during the season we were 8-0. Then we lost in the first round of playoffs so that wasn't so good, but we had a good season. I did pretty well in that game I had 9 tackles and 1 sack on defense.

RD: Do you participate in other sports in high school?
Dawan Nolton: I played basketball before, but I am just going to run track this year. I think I will do the 100 and some relay .

RD: What schools have offered you so far? Are there any other schools you're interested in?
Dawan Nolton: I know Pittsburgh as offered right now, but not sure on who else because I am letting my coach handle that stuff right now until after the season and I am interested in Pittsburgh, North Carolina, Boston College, Toledo, Syracuse, Temple and New Mexico State.

RD: Who is your recruiter for Toledo and how do they see you fitting into their system?
Dawan Nolton: Well I think I talk to the LB Coach, but I can't remember right now. They are looking at me for an outside LB. They have tried to get me to visit, but I told them I wanted to wait till after my season so now I am going to start looking at taking trips.

RD: Have you visited any colleges yet?
Dawan Nolton: No I wanted to wait till my season was over before I started to concentrate on what colleges, but since my season is over now I can see who is interested and start to visit schools now.

RD: How is school going for you?
Dawan Nolton: I just took the SAT test waiting on the results.

RD: What are you looking for in college?
Dawan Nolton: Well of course looking for a school with great academics, but also I am really looking at a school to where I can play as a freshman with a chance of starting.
