Rockets to Play Florida in 2013

The University of Toledo will play football games against Michigan, Ohio State (twice), Florida, Boise State (twice), Purdue (twice), and Arizona (three) in the next several years. The game against the Florida Gators is the latest announcement from UT.

The Toledo Rockets will open the 2013 football season at the Florida Gators. An announcement was made moments ago by University of Toledo Athletic Director Mike O'Brien. The game will be played on August 31st at Florida Field in Gainesville, FL.

"This is a great opportunity for our football program to play against one of the best programs in the country," said Mr O'Brien. "Our players will be excited to play the Gators, and it's also a game that will create a lot of interest for our fans. We also look forward to gaining some exposure in Florida, which is a state where we have recruited student-athletes and hope to recruit more in the future."

The game against Florida will be another high-profile matchup for the Rockets. Toledo also plays at Michigan in 2008, a home and home series against Ohio State, a home and home series against Boise State, and a 2 for 1 series against Arizona in what many would consider high-profile games.
