K.J. McElvaney has a few schools in mind for his visits, but he’s leaning towards one program that he believes will provide him the competition he needs to improve.
Jeffersontown (Ky.) defensive back K.J. McElvaney is looking at three schools right now, but he is favoring one of those programs.
“New Mexico Military Institute is about to offer me soon, probably when I go to visit this weekend,” said McElvaney. “I’ll probably commit there on signing day. Southern Illinois and Tennessee-Martin are showing me a little love too,” McElvaney continued.
McElvaney still may visit the latter two schools, but he feels good about the way the NMMI has been attentive.
“I’m waiting on Southern Illinois and Tennessee-Martin to call me back (to set up visits). But I like that JUCO. They are loving me. I’m excited about the visit and the playing time,” he said.
McElvaney is excited about the competition he could face there too.
“I’m very excited because I feel like I can compete for playing time my first year. I’m looking for high competition,” he said. “Also, they are telling me I’ll be playing early a lot because of my size and potential to make plays.”
The 6-foot-2 senior is just glad to be putting his name on the dotted line of a Letter of Intent.
“I feel blessed and glad to have the opportunity to go play college football,” he finished.
