Scott set for 1st visit this weekend

ATH DaMari Scott

Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral athlete Damari Scott is set for a busy January and will take his first official visit this weekend.

DaMari Scott is one of the state's best two-way athletes and could end up at corner, safety or receiver in college. He never received the recruiting attention his talent deserved but he'll hit the road the next three weekends in hopes of finding a new home.

"My first visit will be this weekend to Fresno State," Scott said. "Fresno State is a good school and they just called a couple of days ago to lock in the visit so I'm excited to take it. They have a pretty good recruiting class coming in so this should be a good visit.

"Toledo just offered me this week and I'll probably visit there next week. Then my last visit will likely be to Nevada, which is locked in for (Jan. 25). They were one of the first schools to offer me and have been recruiting me pretty hard so that should be a good visit too. I don't have any leaders right now, I just want to take these visits and see where the best fit for me is."

Scott also had early offers from Boston College and Colorado State and was hearing from most of the Pac 12 as well.

Greg Biggins has been covering recruiting for over 15 years, covering the West since the mid-1990's and currently serves as a national analyst for Scout.com/FOXSportsNext.
