Detroit Cass Tech junior cornerback Damon Webb had a relatively quiet night Friday--until the game was on the line late in the fourth quarter. That's when Webb jumped to his highest point and intercepted Saline quarterback Tyler Palka's deep ball, and in the process sealed the Technician's third straight regional championship with the 21-14 win over the Hornets.

"Man, I am just enjoying my life right now," Webb told GoBlueWolverine.com afterward. "We came through with the win and are just moving on to next week."

At 6-foot, 175-pounds, Webb has had a knack of making big plays for Cass Tech all season. He says playing in big time games is what he lives for.

"I definitely love these games right here," Webb said."The crowd is live. Our crowd was live. I just love these games. This is what football is."

Webb transferred to Cass Tech this season from University of Detroit-Jesuit for a chance to play in big games and win a state championship, he said.

"When I transferred to Cass Tech in October, it hurt me because I wasn't part of the team when they won the state championship," Webb explained. "I want to win a state championship—that's my goal right now."

The Technicians (10-2) will next play Lake Orion (11-1) at Troy Athens high school Saturday at 1 p.m. The winner will advance to the State Finals held at Ford Field in Detroit, on Nov. 24.

Recruiting

Webb was on hand when Michigan defeated Michigan State 12-10 last month. He said the overall vibe of the stadium and the Wolverine fan base stuck out on his visit.

"The experience was great, Webb said. "Before the game I talked with the coaches. And the crowd and the atmosphere was just live for that game. I really enjoyed myself."

While the visit went great in Ann Arbor, Webb says he doesn't have another visit planned at the moment.

"I never know when I am going back to Michigan, cause they are right up the street. So I don't know," Webb said.

Ohio State has been another team courting Webb's services. The Buckeyes coaching staff stopped by Cass Tech recently to check in with the four-star prospect.

"Coaching staff from Columbus is telling me to keep in contact with them, " Webb said on his OSU recruitment. "They really like me. They want me to come down and visit more.

"I really like the Buckeyes and their coaching staff. I like the way the run their defense. I like the way (coach) Urban Meyer is building his program."

Along with Michigan and Ohio State, Webb's other top teams include Michigan State, Notre Dame, LSU and USC. As far as a decision timeline, he says he will look over his options after his junior season.

"Yeah, It's pretty much even right now. I am just looking at all the teams that offered me. And after the season I am really going to sit back and think about it."
