How did the new-look Arizona Cardinals grade out during preseason action? Find out here.
Taylor signs with Cardinals, adds depth at RB
Taylor turns 32 later this month and is in his 10th season. It's doubtful he will challenge Beanie Wells for featured back status.
Over the last two years, Wells split carries with Tim Hightower, even though Hightower started the majority of the time. Both were young, and Hightower did a variety of things well while Wells learned the nuances of the game.
Wells, however, is healthy for the start of the season and his injury history (ankle, knee) seems to be behind him.
Taylor took a physical and signed a one-year deal Monday and will practice for the first time on Wednesday.
"He's a veteran player who has been productive in the league," Whisenhunt said. "We'll get him in here and figure out what his role will be. I know as far as whether he's a third-down back, or a first-and-second (down) back, those are all roles that he's done in games and done very well.
"I think he's a good fit for what we're trying to get done.
